Thoughts on men.

Men are strong, that is our burden. As a young man, if it all seems too much, if the burdens of your life weigh you down each and every day, then welcome to the world of men. If it were easy then women would be doing it. The world has more than enough women but it is severely lacking in men. That right there is a job opportunity for you. Time to get cracking. Time to start making a man of yourself.

Men are the active creators while women are the passive creators. To create a new life all a woman has to do is to lie on her back. Men create differently; we create the world in which we live. We carve out civilization where none before existed, and in order to do so we need to compete with other men. We compete with men from other races and nations and we compete with other men from within our own. How competitive are you? The more competitive you are then the more successful you are likely to be.

To be an active creator is to be curious. How many hobbies do you have? Science began as individual men having interests and hobbies. Computers started off as a hobby for nerds. Now every woman that made fun of the nerdy kid at school with an Amiga 500 spends most of her day tapping on a phone. Which hobbies of today will be the science and technology of tomorrow? It depends on how curious you are.

You men. Remember that.

Men are cooperative. We work together as a team for a common objective. With other men. Which means that men need to be around each other. The more men that you know then the more stuff that you will get done.

Men need to be courageous, but you need to work at it. You can be courageous your entire life but the one time that you fail the test of courage then the world will remember, as it should be. Courage is not a trait; it is a virtue, and as such it can be earned or lost, learned or forgotten.

The boy who recently shot up a school was not a man, and yet men and masculinity are being held to ransom for his actions. They call it toxic masculinity. There is no such thing as toxic masculinity. There are simply failed men. Masculinity is not toxic in of itself. But the failure to live up to its precepts has consequences. Which is why men must be guided, taught, and encouraged to be men.

Boys can only learn how to become men from men. Put women in charge of the raising and teaching and the process falls down. Some boys overcome this handicap and manage to make men of themselves in spite of their circumstances. If you’re wondering where to start take a look at my 28 traits of the modern man. Get into the habit of reading. There were a great many men before you who took the time to put words to paper in order to help you out. It’s up to you whether or not to read those words.

It’s up to you whether or not to become a man.

  1. Jeez Adam, you really are a Neanderthal.

I thank you for it each time you write an article like this.

Well said. I agree there’s no such thing as ‘toxic masculinity’, if masculinity is defined appropriately. It’s essentially an oxymoron. Just like there’s no such thing as ‘crony capitalism’, if capitalism is defined by a free market separated from the state. There’s only men who haven’t come to terms with being a man, and trying to make up for that in toxic ways. Their problem is not too much masculinity, but not enough.
